CSUF RECYCLES! Together we can make a difference!
Welcome to our Recycling Website
CSUF maintains an ongoing campus-wide recycling program. Some materials are recycled through Environmental Health and Instructional Safety (EH&IS), and others are recycled by Physical Plant. Most of our recycling on campus is handled through the normal trash pick-up. Recycling of construction materials, equipment, other large or heavy items, and hazardous waste is handled on a case-by-case basis. Our recycling program coordinates the pick-up and handling of recyclable materials and equipment; coordinates with outside vendors and contractors regarding the removal of recyclables; and coordinates the campus reporting for the State’s Waste Management Annual Report
.
Why Recycle?
The results are clear, recycling provides cleaner air and water, less pollution, more forested land and open space, and reduced greenhouse gases.
- The more we recycle, the less garbage winds up in our landfills.
- Landfills are expensive and space is diminishing.
- Toxic materials need to be separated so they don’t leach into our groundwater.
- AB 75 requires state agencies and large state facilities to recycle.
- As energy costs continue to rise and natural resources become depleted, it is more important than ever to make environment-friendly choices to protect our earth for current and future generations.
